Today August 2nd the Cowboys practiced in Oxnard C.A. Brian took on a traveling position which moved him to Oxnard for work leaving me and our 2 kids behind in Oklahoma. Fortunately the kids and I were able to come to Temecula, CA (our home town) and stay with family for the summer. Even more exciting, the kids and I were able to go visit daddy up in Oxnard. On Friday after work we decided to go watch the cowboys practice, with very little money in our pockets we went because parking was only $10.00 and the rest was free. After all just being there was sooo exciting and a dream come true for Brian. We waited in a line for over 2 hours so the kids could get a blue wrist band and after practice if they were lucky they could get autographs... So about 45 minutes before the practice was over we got into another line, the line for autographs. We sent our outgoing son Jayden who is 11 with a marker and some Dallas goodies and we also sent our 6 year old daughter, Persuas, we had to get her all hyped up in hopes she would hold the marker and backpack over the fence and maybe a player would sign it for her.
Brian went off to continue watching as I stayed close to watch our kids. Brian came up and said get the kids and waved passes to me. I was unsure but said okay, Jayden was running his mouth because he and Persaus had a what we thought was a great spot to get autographs. But little did we know the passes we got were VIP and took us up close to the field. WOW! I said, thank you Jesus for this gift for my husband. We watched the end of practice. Persaus and I watched from the VIP section while Jayden and Brian went on to get autographs back behind us and Tony Romo was coming closer but in front of us on the field, so I grabbed a magazine off the table and said come on Persaus lets try and get this guys autograph for daddy. We tried on 1 side then we went onto another side of the fence where he came up and signed the magazine.......
We found Brian and Jayden still talking with Brandon Carr. And then the Head coach Jason Garrett came up and I took a pix of Brian and him.
The day was amazing from the beginning when we walked in, but the ending was a dream, a dream that became a reality for Brian. The smile on his face sitting in the stands was serial, the look on his five when he waved the VIP passes was confused shock, the look on his face standing in VIP with the Dallas Cowboys was priceless.
I held my tears back so many moments throughout the evening because today was the BEST GIFT Brian could ever receive, a gift that I his wife could never pay for to him to experience. Thank you Dallas Cowboys for an amazing fun filled day!!!! Good luck this season!!!!!!
