Reading at 4

Persaus is practicing her reading and learning her site words. Her teacher sends photocopied books to practice at home. Tonight before Persaus bedtime I asked her to read her book to daddy, Jayden spoke up and said read it to me :)) he has always been the BEST big brother and loves to read to her and now that she is learning to read he loves to listen to her. My friend Stephanie pointed out to me the site word books that I can purchase from scholastic and I will be buying those as I am huge on reading with my kids- just ask Jayden and Persaus lol!!!!! I feel like a horrible mom if or Brian don't get the 20 minutes a night in. Brian reads to them Friday through Sunday and I read the rest of the week, this works great for us, and actually Brian is a huge help during the week when I say "help me" ha ha ha ha

Pre-K snack

Every couple months each child's parent is responsible for bringing snack for 55 students at Persaus school. Tomorrow the 30th is our turn and after seeing a lot of what is brought consists of cookies, cookies, and more cookies..... The snack can be homemade which made the lightbulb turn on and some kind of muffin was what I wanted to make. I had lots of bananas in my freezer, my friend Kim has a small cupcake pan.... I was excited to make mini banana bread muffins..... That didn't satisfy my healthy intentions for these muffins so I grated carrots into the dough. WOW!!!!! These are soooooo yummy!!!!!! You can't see the carrots or taste them much which is a really good thing, I am serving 4 and 5 year olds who would probably want candy or cookies over carrots lol!!!!! I will be helping at the school tomorrow :)) I'm excited to see what the teachers say about the mini muffins :)

Christmas Trees

My amazing friend Kim and I went shopping at Walmart..... Hold on.... 1 of the million times we have been to Walmart saw the cutest trees for kids to have in there rooms. Kim decided to bring Erin to the store to pick out her tree, so I did the same thing. Jayden chose the blue tree and Persaus chose the pink tree. I bought silver ornaments for Jayden's with a silver star to make the tree resemble the Dallas Cowboys. I bought purple ornaments for Persaus tree and a cute pink and green topper, the kids are using them as night light at night :))

New tv....

We were not in the market until my in laws said they wanted to get a small flat screen for there room, well when we saw the adds and tv's were selling for 250 on black Friday.... We decided to see if we would be lucky and get one. My father in law was soooo awesome, he went shopping with us girls and stood in line with his ticket to get us the 40 inch tv, I told Brian I feel like such a cool person now... Ha ha ha!!!!! I found a few movies and we have watched a couple together after we put the kids to bed.

60 day challenge

Today I started a 60 day challenge for myself, my focus is my weight loss and eating clean...... I did really well for my first day, I did give in this afternoon and had a few baked pretzel thins, and a few bites of the meal that I made my family. However I am very proud of myself because I didn't give up and eat a snickers lol!!!! Christmas day is my birthday and having breakfast made which consists of bagels, hash browns and eggs with sausage this will be my only day I let myself enjoy non healthy foods!!! After I've made it to 60 days I will then set another 60, and eventually eating clean will be natural to me- get it lol!!!!!
Today is the end of my 1st day and I have had soooo much more energy, and I feel more clear headed :)) maybe its all in my head lol :))

Well here's on to 59 more days......

Decorated tree

The day after thanksgiving I put our Christmas tree up and Persaus helped decorate. Tonight we are watching the movie Racing Stripes with the kids and enjoying our last night with Papa and Mimi. Our visit with them was short but we enjoyed every second!!!!! We ordered papa johns for dinner and then went to Chickasha to go for a carriage ride and see the festival of lights. Even though it was super cold they had blankets for us to cover up with and that helped. My mother and father in law went shopping with me and my good friend Kim, we left with a new flat screen, a PS3 thats Kim's and a WII for kim also and we got all the small items we went for except my MIL didn't get a sewing machine and some Pyrex dishes she was hoping to get :)) Friday mid afternoon my MIL went to CVS and Walgreens with me and we couponed, we were able to get about half or maybe a quarter of what we went for and it was all free with some overage!!!!! This month is my FAVORITE month, it's about being with family and giving and being Thankful for what you have :)))

Science Museum

Today is the last day until next week for my kids school. We are in OKC at the Science Museum to have some fun!!!!! I have a super small group today, only Jayden and his friend Shea. Excited to spend some QT with my baby boy. When we get home today our family will be here!!!!!
